In addition, the commission protects the citizens of Indiana, as well as the ethical operators of private career schools, from the fraudulent activities of a minority of unscrupulous operators of such schools.

    The Indiana Department of Workforce Development helps people prepare for and find good jobs. A statewide network of Indiana Workforce Development offices provides job referral services, career counseling, unemployment insurance, and assistance with job training or retraining. The state agency plans and assists in the development of secondary and postsecondary technical education programs, collects and distributes labor market information, helps businesses develop workplace literacy programs, and assists in the development of education standards and assessments.

    The IFPI is a private non-profit governmental research organization. It is the only independent statewide source of continuing research into the impact of state taxing and spending policies in Indiana.

    A unique state-funded consortium of all 39 public and private universities and colleges (77 campus sites) to provide networks for voice (SUVON), video (IHETS Television), and data (INDnet), video teleconferencing, and satellite distribution from originating institutions to receive sites world-wide.

Learn More operates a toll-free telephone Hotline staffed by information specialists who can answer questions and provide resources on education and career options.

  • State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana
    The State of Indiana, through the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana (SSACI), has been offering assistance to its college-bound citizens since 1965. To apply for Indiana grants and scholarships, and for federally-insured college loans, students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the core document necessary to apply for all types of student financial aid available through the state and federal governments as well as the colleges and universities. The SSACI gives helpful tips for completing the FAFSA, as well as providing information about various scholarships and grants.
